mid April picks of the day!

This morning as I left for work it was drizzling and damp. upon arriving home a glimpse of the sun was appearing and it looks like the afternoon would be good for a bike ride.
 By 3:30 I was on my bike. My trip included a trip to the post office,The Beach and a brief stop to The Beach House.
I also took some video and a few stills.
Here are the shots of the day.

people started turning the colors up on there Izod shirts and girls wore these things called legwarmers.
  I was still going to bible studies enjoying it.
This guy named Prince did this song lets go crazy. and had a purple motorcycle.
I got this weird thing called rubrics cube but it frustrated the heck out of me.
It was also the year we got a new custodian named Frank Alechko. He looked like a tough guy  buy  soon after I found out he too was a Christian and we shared the love of secular music and Coffee!
 There was a place in Bay Head that sold tapes and soon after I started hearing about bands like U2,Dire Straights,Talking Heads and Sade just to name a few.
I also remember getting into a show called Miami vice and VHS tapes and taping shows and movies off the TV would be replaced by making mixtapes. We not replaced but Id get more into making mixtapes more than taping stuff off the tv!

remembering 1984

I just saw a best of 1984 albums and can remember hearing them at the time
I was in a Baptist youth group for a spell and attended a Baptist church for a spell. I remember being told about how BAD secular music was. I started listening to a local Christian radio station and buy cassettes of Keith Green, Amy Grant and so on.
  I still listened to that BAD music I didn't talk about it at youth group.
As time went on I saw kids in youth group smoking and one girl even became pregnant by her boyfriend and ended up marrying him.
 After our first youth director left I still hung on for another year but by 86 I started fading out. Not in my faith but just realizing that I was getting older and not in high school anymore so it was time to go on.
I realized just because it was a Christian youth group doesn't mean they don't have the same problems any other kid was having.
  I kept on listening to my secular music. What music you listen to won't define you as a good or bad Christian its that way your behave that will.
Someone once said going to church doesn't make you a better Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car!
many think of born again Christians as perfect people who have it all together. WRONG!
The is only one who's perfect.
and whos that? you ask
GOD the father!
so lets stop judging and lets start loving and respecting one another!
 

news and Chatter

It was a beautiful weekend here at the Jersey shore.
Yesterday was a great day for photography and videotaping. I did and video tour and did an interview with Laura at the Jolly Tar.

 The following day The Beach House classic surf Shop will be hold their annual spring board swap.

     In Other news..
I am sad to report that Carl Conover has Died. He was a volunteer firefighter at the BHFC and for many years had a hot dog and Arizona tea stand on East Ave. He was a gentleman and called me Patsy. I guess he know my Mom from church so being I was named after her she was Pat and I was Patsy or little Patty. He often complimented me on my DJing and liked what I played.

confession time

For about 3 years I had this account and a tumblr account. About a week ago they twitched thing up and tonight I could locate the darn sign out button so I said screw it I'll just delete my account so I did.
I thought I would use that account for photography and this for strictly blogging but not many folks followed me so why have 2 blogs when you one is the main blog
blogger wins! Bam! It work better too!

great world music

Fpr a few years now I have been trying to listen to more world music. two of my main influences are fellow mix makers Robert Song and Al Telstar (not their real names ) but your internet handles.
Among my favorites are African, Irish and Indian music. Although mans of the words I don't know but the beats are infectious and danceable.
 What I like too is that they use real instruments and the music is authentic and not computer generated.

Spting into Summer

     Recently  I went on our library website and checked out the newest CDs they had.
To my delight they had some new world music CDs. I hit the request button on a few, especially the African beats.
 I was telling a coworker the other day that I often get a playlist in the head but sometimes can't come up with a title. She suggested the title. Bam!
I think I used it before so I called it " Spring into Summer 2015"
 I have another batch of CDs coming from the library and I'm sure another mix will come from that!
 Spring does inspire creativity!
