Back in the winter coat!

A great find

Monday started out good. It was a busy day at work but it was a good day.
After work I went to the dentist to get my permanent crown on my back tooth that was broken. I was out of the dentist office 4.00 so I went to Borden's stationary to pick up a few 6 x 9 envelopes that I use to mail out my mix CDs.
 Being its been a while since I have been to the antique mall I decided it was time.
    As I was looking around a shiny wrapped CD caught my eye. It was the beatles Past masters and it was sealed.Being the Beatles fan that I am I had to pick it up!
 I swore I wouldn't pick anything up for me but this was an exception! I alsi found a few 45's for a fellow youtuber!

Spring is close very close

I was chatting with a neighbor and we both noticed evidence of spring in your garden. Ah! This gladdens my heart, soul and body!
 for the first time in months my poor toes are freezing and I wore a lighter jacket today!
 we may get a little snow tomorrow night or Thursday. I'm hoping it will be just a little bit. heck it is march by the way.
 I finally did some shopping Saturday. Ink cartridges, CD-Rs, and CDs! I saw a few friends in my travels too! I'm cured of my cabin fever. Now m allergies are acting up but Allergies are OK!
  Tonight I got on  the OCL website again and put more CDs on hold. Heavy on the R& B from the 70s and 80s.The next  mix will be funktified!
  So I was talking to Franks substitute about church and that just going to church alone doesn't make you a good Christian.Many folks think this.
OK I'm all for going to church and getting spiritually fed and so on BUT that alone doesn't make you a good Christian.
 Take the lessons you learn in church and live them,apply them to your life! its not always easy and there will be temptation to forget but do your best each day.
If your curse or get angry confess it to God above. When your have a good day thank him! If your having struggles ask him for help. Church is a great place.it renews you and helps you face the week ahead but theres much more to being a Christian then going to church. People will see your Christianity by the way you act outside of church.
A friend once told me "you'll be blessed by your integrity. Wow I never thought of that. doing the right thing pleases God.

The music buying relapse

My last music purchase was 2 weeks ago and I told myself no more music till after Christmas.
  I went into Andi's and saw James Daltons new CD and bam!Relapse!
Hey its worth it though.He does a fantastic job and the harmonica and mandolin.truly a gifted dude!
 After that I was cruising around  point Beach and got curious about what new Putumayo CDs Sunshine daydream had.OK if I was going to have a relapse it was going to go the distance.
  I decided on Runba mumbo cha cha cha.I like them both.
Jpats got that's bluesy folky tip perfect for getting mellow and laid back and Rumba mambo cha cha cha makes you wanna do a little dirty Dancing woh mama!
Later that evening I did some online buying too!

December random chatter

Sadly Atomic CDs closed their Doors.Now I will hunt for another place to buy used CD's in addition to Ocean County music, consignment for cash and the antique pavilion. Not that those places aren't good but I'm always on the lookout for new spots but that will wait till spring I guess. I gave Nancy my Christmas wants and had them noted in my phone but deleted them so i'll be surprised on Christmas. Wednesday I expect things to get closer to Normal as BHS is opening up again.As much as the time off was kinda fun Im starting to feel useless!Uhoh Yeah i need to get back to work!! I may crank Out another mix before Christmas vacation. If the weather is permitting My Camera and I will go on one last adventure of my unscheduled vacation. Today was unusually warm for December but I'm not complaining,heck no!I got a lot accomplished because of it. 16 packages containing Christmas mixes in them,cards mailed and even a stop for a late breakfast and then off to the drugstore for allergy meds.I had a half hour to spare before I went to the dentist and All is well. NO Cavities.Although I do need to step it up on the flossing. Ok well thats all for now! stay tunes and be well Trish

The girls were appreciative when I asked them If I could take photos.Even the Original Skullboy was ok with me taking picture of a new drawing he did! So after all that eating and socializing I got the hankering to go downtown.on the way I heard good sounds coming from another coffee lounge the Green Planet.I stopped in and took some foootage and then went to atomic CDs and got 2 CDs afterwards I went to see George and Beth and george and I had cocktails

I went home afterwards ,had dinner and finished a load and laundry and took care of Bayou and the fish!

I had the most freshest piece orf coffee cafe today at Cafe de Point!It was so sweet and fresh I almost ordered another.Oh man!The staff ans customers are nice folks!Check it out!They are right across the street from O'Brians florists!

Cafe De Point

This past winter One of the BHRC Thats (Bay Head Reading Center)librarians,Sally told me about a place called Cafe De Point.I almost forgot about it till I passed it on my way to get my bike tuned up.
Today in my travels I did look into it.Its a cozy place.The women that work there are nice.There are a few lounge chairs there.
They are across from O'Brians Florist.I had my usual coffee and Blueberry Muffin.Fresh and Tasty.
There were nice painting displayed throughout the small cafe.

day good afternoon of shopping

Upon arriving home after a busy but productive day at work I felt the warmth of the sun and knew it was a bike riding day.
I took in the mail,sorted it and brought Nancy and Dans mail over to their side.There was Bayou waiting for me.Her tail was going and when I went to pet her she gave my hand a lick.aww!I kissed her on the head and let her out and she too was enjoying the sun.
After she came back in I petted her some more and rubbed her behind the ears.she loved that.I think most dogs do!She stood in the kitchen like eh hem are you forgetting something?Ah yes the biscuit!I like the sound when she chews on the milk bone.crrunch! crrunch!
Then I ran upstairs ,booted up the computer ,got changed into my civvies and off on my bike I went.I mailed out a few mixes and headed to Bordans for ink cartridges and gave them a mix.I stopped at Ocean County music and gave them a mix and my last stop was Atomic CDs.The owner Eric was on the phone so I looked around.There was some cool artwork on the wall.Including paintings by a local artist named skullboy who does paintings of Skulls.Hes Talented and a nice guy.I wonder if he would ever branch out and do other stuff.
I noticed that the CD section has shrunk and the vinyl section has grown.So is he going to change the store name to atomic records?hmm
Most of the albums are $6-10.00 and the real good ones are a tad pricier.Many albums I've been can be bought for new on CD for the same price.
Well I do hope the CDs that are gone are in a happy home and I wish his albums equal the sucess!Good music should not just sit on a shelves not being appreciated.
OK well while Im sittin' here pluggin Atomic CDs I'll also Mention they Have books,Clothes,Stickers and Jewelry.They are on Arnold Ave in Point Pleasant beach 2 doors down from The Green Planet Coffee Shop.

Another nice bikeride ..with visits to friends

Today after work I went for a bike ride.My first stop was the recycling Center where I dropped of a dozen or so old magazines.Chip and his crew were going about the business of wrapping up the work day.
My next stop was Ocean County Music.It felt good peddling down Bay Ave again.I bought some Jewel cases for my Cd's.Sal was there.He was actually in a talkative mood.I nicknamed him to quiet one.Some folks think hes not that smart because he's shy but Hes actually very smart I think!
My next stop was a 60 second visit to Vinnie at In The Light Photography.He was meeting with customers So I didn't stay long.
My next stop was Thoughtful Treasured where my friend Eloise has a shop.My Last stop was The Grind coffee Shop where I got a blueberry Muffin and a coffee.
I chatted with Debby the owner and eventually Eloise showed up and had a latte.We all sat around and chatted and being it was getting late I headed home before dark but of course I had to stop at Bay Point Market and get some Pennie pasta and a bottle of coke.
Tonight Ill make some mixes and family and friends and mail them off Saturday.

Wind and the wonderin'

Today seems like a busy Tuesday.
My plan to go for a quick trip to get CDrs didnt quite go as planned but I do have 10
CDrs.The Rite Aid on Bay and 88 is going out of Business.I walked in clueless and saw a practically empty store.
I saw the new Owner but He didnt say what the new store was going to be.
I did go to Ocean County Music and get 10 CDrs and being Bordans is right next door I bought some mailing envelopes too!
After I got home ,brought in the mail,let Bayou out and got changed I found $10.00 in my jeans pocket!Lunch Money!
Tomorrow I'll be doing the music for hoops for hearts program.Ill be using the school stereo.
I'll plan on mailing out some mixes Thursday.Im hoping the pack on 50 I ordered online arrive this week.There are a few folks patiantly awaiting mixes incling my friend George.

one last bikeride before the holidays?!!!

As I rolled in the driveway a gameplan for the rest of the day formed in my head.
I brought in the mail,let Bayou out and gave her a biscuit when she came in.
Then I got changed and booted up the computer and did a quick check of the email.Being it was 39 degrees I went for a bikeride.The wind from the north was cold but manageable.
I went to the bank,got some money out and then went to the post office and mailed out some packages.Then I went and got wine and CDrs.It was getting late so tomorrow would be part 2 of things to get.
Tomorrow I hope my package containing Amber and Joans gift comes.If not plan B Give Amber $5.00 along with the boys and tell her the original gift is late.doh.
I plan to get Nancy and Dan a Bottle of Baileys.
I usally Have my shoping finished by now but if you read my previous blog you know why I didn't.
Last night I gave nancy and Dan they're anniversary gift.They were Happy.Dan Also went up in the attic and got my tree down.
Usually its done a week or 2 before but things are differant this year.
Usually I do it on a weekend and I have a glass of wine in my hand.This year no wine but I got it done!This memory of my parents came and so did a few tears.A sober crying jag?!yep!
between errands today I stopped my Beth and Georges House.She Pulled out a Christmas mix I gave then in 2004.Must have been my first Christmas CD mix.Ive been making CD mixes for 6 years?Hmm How many hundred CDrs must have been burned?I can even try to estimate that!We talked a bit about memories of 2004.wow.It blows by litle mind how long ago that was.Emotionally I was still raw from my Moms death and the current house where they live now was just starting to be built.
So now back to 2010 and moving fast towards 2011.

Black Friday:an Observation

Black Friday.its either your friend or your worst nightmare.When I headed out just to do a few things I took a mental note to be extra careful.Cross only at crosswalks and walk your bike across the highway.
People are anxious to get to their next stop.my travels were going well.I got printer ink and a 50 pack of CDrs.People were hitting the horns more than usual in route home.not at me but at others.
I arrived home unharmed and unshaken.I was hoping to get out earlier but it was raining in the morning and black Friday is one of the days I refuse to take the car out.
I did take a quick trip to downtown Point beach though before heading home.The good thing about Black Friday is it brings folks together for a common goal.Shopping!
I saw one woman with a teenage girl I'm guessing was here daughter tell a man were going over here.and the man went his way.Guys dont like going into dress shops or Jewelry shore with their wives no more than woman like to go in sports shops with their husbands,right?
unless two folks want to go to the same place,its a chore.My mother never understood why I didn't enjoy shopping with her.She could spend all day in the mall on a beautiful day shopping and browsing.
When I shop I like to get what I want ,pay for it and go!Then again there my music stores where yes I do browse.I think one time mom did come into Ocean County music a few times and got a taste of her own medicine.Not that that was my intention it just happened. and one day I think I said to her "aha! see?"Oh but we could go out to Frankies together and talk for hours and have a ball.We loved her Ruben Sandwiches but never finished them and brought the leftovers home and there I was fat and happy after chomping down a burger and fries.
I don't think my dad was fond of driving on Black Friday either.He'd say people drive like a--holes.Mom would just roll here eyes "Oh Tom!"
Mom was a calm chick in traffic and Dad called folks driving recklessly every word in the book.We kids would be in the back seat not saying a word.
so there it is.My take on Black Friday.
