Last night I was looking at a small wooden CD holder that hold most of my early CD mixes.1 or 2 of the CDs were missing and I hope to find them because there were some nice mixes in the early days. Not that todays aren't good but those early mixes are all over the place. I don't know where I got most of those songs. Most likely from the library. It was fun going down memory lane.
This Morning I woke up at 9:55am. Pretty early for me on a Saturday unless I have something to do.
I check my email and posted on facebook that I was going to a local Breakfast/Lunch place called Klotz's Kitchen and would anyone like to meet me there. NO Reply. zilch, zero!
Perhaps folks were in shock that I was up so early on a Saturday. Perhaps everyone else was still sleeping!
I saw a post by The Brick Rotary and posted to volunteer my DJ services if they were ever in need of one for fundraisers and I got a response from someone says they would be in touch.
In pasts years I tried to get in touch with both the Beach and Boro rotarys and nothing! Hmm what does that say?
So I took another walk today and it felt good. If I wake up early again tomorrow perhaps a trip to Vesuvios in in the plans. I like they're subs. I really like they're tuna fish subs.
OK so back to music. I'm waiting to get a CD I ordered in the mail and then I can start on my next mix.
I finally got a tripod for my camera, I actually got 2 because I didn't think the first order went through. I'd would like to get back to bike riding videos. I'll see which one worked best and sell the other but might keep them both one for the desk and one for travels. one of them is thinner so it might be the one for my bike riding videos.
I know January and Febuary are the coldest months of the year but I do miss my bikerides and really am look forward to getting my pony aka bike back on the road again.

Geting back to it
I started doing it in the 80s to fight the battle of the bulge.
It helped me physically and mentally. Yes I'm talking about walking
I also started making mixtapes to motivate me to keep walking.
Yesterday I decided to get back to it and not only is it good for you healthwise but mentally as well.
I often am able to clear my mind of cobwebs as I breath in the fresh air. Any and all feelings of stress go down too.
I got to find my earphones listen to my ipod or cd Walkman. year I still have my CD Walkman floating about.
Actually my CD player would be better so I can listen to mixes other than my own.
Taking walks and listening to music is a perfect combination.
Walking without music is OK too but with music I can listen to the music and I power through any cramps of soreness I'm feeling in my legs. Oh but don't expect me to listen to the Rocky theme or eye of the tiger on repeat. They are good motivation songs but there's only so much I can take.
If you feel worried or anxious about something a good long walks helps relieve that too!
So Get Walking!

Flashback attack
Today a few teachers asked me if we had paper.Alica put in the order 2 days ago and it wasn't there yet we used to order it from Bordens but now order it from Staples for savings.
Our basic skills teacher Diane and I have been there the longest.I said to her remember when we used to get 20 cases and they would last all year?Yep she said.
Back in the late 80s when I started in the office We ordered our supplies from a company called Hammett
We would Order Paper for the whole year.20 cases of Paper went into the bioler room and it pretty much lasted all year.
Shortly after working in the office Jill got an Apple IIe computer. It came with floppy discs. She still used her Big Corona Selectric typewriter too that was about 50 pounds.
Her Monitor of the apple IIe was about 13 inches. One day when our boss was out and things were slow she opened up a blank page and told me to write someone a letter.I didnt know anything about computers."What if I hit the wrong button and delete everything".I asked her.Nope it wont happen go just type a letter. She relplied.Reluctantly I did.I think I typed my aunt Joan a letter. When she came back from lunch she told me how to correct type ohs. This was before we got hooked up to the internet.that happened 10 years later.
Our paper order came right after lunch, right as I snuck into the boiler room for a quick cup of coffee.I filled the printers, fax Machine and copier much my fellow staff members delight.
Today after work I delivered 5 Christmas mixes to All saints Church.A little contribution to their Christmas bizzare. The garage door wouldnt open all the way so instead of risking breaking the garage and MY BACK I decided to walk.Sheila was sitting in the newly renovated office. She showed me around. Its looks great. The pastors office has a view of scow ditch.
She said last years the christmas mixes were a hit.A few days ago I reworked the playlist and renamed it a joyful Christmas.I think they'll like a swingy Jazzy Christmas though.
After Sheila got done with some paper work and a phone call she drove me home. She gave me a few brownies saying that I already walked off the calories so enjoy.
Now its time for a brownie and a cup of Tea!Mmm.Chocolate!

another beauty of a day for bike riding..and walking
Before leaving work today our Computer Tech Wally informed me it was warm and nice and a perfect day for a bike ride.
I did.I took my bike to Pt Pleasant Bicycles to be tuned up and then I took a walk to Sheryl's new shop. Its across the street from Colonial Market.Ive only been in there one but they're nice.Of course Bay Point Market is Tops in my book but Ill consider them If Im not in the mood for riding over the bridge.
The New Special T graphics is bigger and cleaner.Dave,Sheryl's Husband says the landlord is nice and let him do some Painting and other alterations in there. That's something most landlords frown upon.
After I saw Sheryl walked to rite aid and bought a 50 pack of CD rs.They didn't have jewel cases so Ill get some from Ocean County music.
That Parking lot is always full.Super Stop N shop is mostly the reason why.I remember when Jamesway was there. There was also a cute ice cream shop there too!It seamed like traffic was heavier then I expected so I was extra careful.
the bike is like new now.

A walk and thoughts
The work day went well.I have a new name for our 5th grade teacher.Smiley.She has this wondewrful smile that lights up the room and brightens your day.She could be a model.realy.
After work I took a walk to the local Liquare store to get a bottle of wine.Of course my walk started just as the school around the corner from us were dismissing and traffic around the school get a tad overwhelming.Thats when I hop up on the sidewalk till after I get past the school.
The one cool advantage to that is the crossing guards stop traffic so you can cross busy streets. No 10 minute waits to cross Beaver Dam Road Today.
I was really starting to feel the effects of lack of excercise today en route home.wow! My lower back and my legs.oh man!
Im sure Ive Gained to Pound since Christmas time too!Walks have been few and far between.

the rubber meets the road
It was good to see the sun shining today. The temps got up in the mid 40s.
The game plan for a walk after work began. The wheels of my mind started turning.
I found a blank index card in the boiler room and wrote my list.I included stuff to be done at a later date but wrote it down anyway.
I stopped at out local library after work and picked up some Cd's I ordered.
When I got home my usual duties were priority.Take in the mail and let Bayou out.
Seems here mobility is improving. Her fur on here leg is growing back.I gave her a biscuit after she came and and went and got into jeans and a sweatshirt and headed out.
it felt good.If it weren't for the snow Id bring out the bike.
Stop one was the post office were I mailed out 5 CD mixes to family and other mix pals.
Next and went to the pharmacy.after my pharmacy round I had enough money for wine.yay.
on the way home I thanked God for the chance to take this walk.I heard to snow melting into the gutter.Music to my ears,oh but wouldn't you know more snow is fore casted for tomorrow night.Grr!
