goodbye summer,hello school year

As crazy as the weather was this summer I dint destroy my "working vacation" as I call it. I wish I had gotten together with a few folks but I hope to catch up with them in the fall.No earthquakes and no hurricanes but too many thunder storms for my liking.They did insure we didn't have a drought though.Oh those green head flies and mosquito's got me good this summer.OUCH! I wasn't as busy As I thought I would be with DJ gigs this summer but I did enjoy the ones I did have.Special thanks to the Beach House,The Longboard Grill and The Bay Head Fire company for giving me the opportunity to entertain you! Thank you to my road crew Chip,Eric and Daryl and Jamie! The summer with the BHIA was cool too!Thank you to all the bosses and fellow staffers! And so a new year at BHS begins.Go Sharks!

Baby its kinda chilly outside!

Today I woke up to a very chilly room.
Each year I try to wait till November 1st to turn on the heat.Tonight I had too.I didnt like shivering while I was drinking my wine and listening to good music.I think I turned on the heat on ealier last year.I even turned on the heat in the car today.Goodbye shorts,hello gloves!Old man winter may make another early return this year.Oh frack!
Time to find my gloves and snow boots.doh!

a day of rain

Plans for a bikeride were scratched today because it was a day of rain.It rained hard en route to work so a tighter grip on the wheel was warrented because it can get hairy if you stop too fast and skid about.ya never know.
I guess after I did some bikeriding yesterday I guess today im due for a lazy day..after work that is.Today was sorta busy at work and after I type this lil blog its power nap time.
Today I picked up the soundtrack to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the library.
Does anyone remember that movie from the early 70s?
I rememberseeing it at the Lorrain theater in Bay Head which now is the shopper wharf.It was about a widowed man and his 2 Children.He invented a car that could fly.aw heck google it man!
I also remember folks would fish and crab behind the lorrain theater but after it became the shopper wharf thay gated it off.I remember catching an eeel but I let it go.One time I remember trying to pick up a little crab and he got a hold of my finger.oh what a grip he had.

The Post Irene update

Minimal damage was received in my neck of the woods.As far as I can see all there appears to be is branches scattered about.I suspect our Front Garden will see the worst of it.Our Beautiful Flowers that Nancy worked so hard on will be sagging like rag dolls im sure.
I got a call from my supervisor saying the Beach is closed tomorrow.All is time off is giving me a chance to catch up on emails,facebook,making mixes and being plain lazy.My cell was charging when we had a power surge and screwed up the time and date and figuring out how to straighten it out was a pain the the you know what but I finally got it.
Chip Posted pictures of his house on facebook and ol' Bay Head Is in 2 feet of water.Ahh!
Im wondering what the beach looks like and how many of the recently restored platforms held up.Mine was practically rebuilt after the last big storm!
I hope to get out tomorrow by bike or foot to check things out.
The Music and movie night is rescheduled for this Friday at the beach house.

Get ready for Tropical storm Irene

Irene was a hurrican but is downgraded to a tropical storm.Many folks are evacuating but amny of us aren'nt.
We have 2 days off at the beach and have to call in Monday.
Last nights movie night is rescheduled for next week.Im hoping it wont be as bad as the predicted.While everyones away Govenor Christie is going to break into your house and raid your fridge and your liquire cabinet,then hes going to sit in your recliner and watch your TV.
OK OK time to be serious.I started work on my childrens mix.Its simply titled hey kids.
I also have a playlist called 0874u and plan on making another mix built around purchases I made the other day at Atomic CDs.

peddle peddle go go

At Arpund 4:15 today the head lifeguard announce over the radio for the rest of the lifeguards to pack a few things up in case the storm hits.
Storm what storm?all I see are blue skies.The wind started to pick up.then I turned and looked to the west.grey skies.When we got called in a wasted no time and pedeled homeward only stopping for red lights,people crossing and street and beer.
My cell rang and it was Chip.We made a time for pick up of the gear.When I arrived home I called hime and he arrived in 10 minutes.After the gear was packed he did have time to enjoy a beer and chat.
He enjoys the down time especially since the day before clamback is always busy as hell.
We both agreed how around this time of year we look forward to life getting back to normal after labor day.
I will miss being able to just getting in my beach uniform.What i have to dress in normal paraproffesional garb now?Ahhh!dress shoes,knee hights clean shirt..ahhhh!

rumble rumble for real

Today my Felt bad .its a woman thing I know.I took 2 Motrin and slept till 2pm.MyPlans for the day were scrapped untill 4ish when I started feeling well again.I went to get Jewel Cases at Rite aid.The sky was looking grey.
On the way home I heard thunder.My plans to stop by Cafe de Point would have to wait for another day.I saw people In the community park and some looked like they were headed out and others were walking ,etc.
I was a block from the house when I thought I saw a flash of lightning and picked up the pace of the pedeling.
As I pulled in the driveway it seemed like the thunder was louder and thanked God for getting me home safe as I pushed my bike in the garage.
When I was eating dinner a big bolt of lighting flash and the sky opened up.
It seemed like the storm lasted an hour.As much as I hot lightining storms we need a good rain to lesson the threat of a drought.
We lost power for five minuted so I had to reset my alarm clock after the storm passed.
I waited till after the lightning stopped till I rebooted the computer.

Rumble rumble..false alarm!

My day off and my game plan went well..kinda!
My first stop on my list was Cafe De Paont.A large coffee and a blueberry muffin.Deee-lish!Brea and her partner are so nice.a Gentleman went up to order a spot of cofee and did and english accent.I ask him if he was getting a shubbery too.He laughed.He started talking about Monty Pythons holy grail.
The next stop was Special T Graphics where a long overdue visit took place.I gave her a small bag of can tabs for the happy tabs can!
My visit was short due to the darkening sky.
As I was leaving Nancy called.I told her where I was and that I was heading home.My plan to go for pizza was cancelled and I pedeled as fast as I could.
I got home and nothing came of the storm.False Alarm!I pedelled pretty fast too, dammit!
When I check my email my fellow mixmaker Larry sent me an email saying his snail mail got stolen while he was away.The theives most likely took the envelope of mixes I sent him too.
Pardon my french but the theiving rat bastards most likely have the mixes I sent him and are rockin' out damn them!
he gave me a P.O box to send new ones to.I hope the theives get cought.I hope they spend many years in jail and get whats coming to them.scuse the rant but it makes me made when stuff like that happens.Whats with some people?

Its the end of march and my toes are still cold

This Morning It was in the mid to upper 30s.Yesterday I took a quick bikeride and man it was COLD!The winter coats not getting put away just yet!Old man winter is still hanging around!

a heavy right hook from Mother Nature!

Last night we got another couple of inches from mother nature.The phone rang at about 6am saying school was closed.I went back to sleep.
I woke up about 11:30th and had some coffee and checked my email.As much as I wanted to diddle daddle on the computer all day I know there was a heavy task awaiting me.
At about 1pm I got in jeans a t shirt and a hoodie and my boots and coat and headed out to clean off the car.Its wasnt as bad as I thought it would be.it was mostly snow.There were parts of the roof I couldnt really reach well so I hope mr Sun melts it.It took about an hour but I did take a 10 minute bathroom and tea break,then head about for another 20 minutes.
Man I doo hope this is the end of the snow for awhile.We were supposed to have a mild winter!
Now before it gets Dark I want to make sure the car does start.

Snow snow melt away!

The snow the weatherman said was going to come indeed arrived.It gave me and my sister a day off from work and the kids a day off from school.
When I went to clean off my car this afternoon my doors were frozen shut.Of course arctic winds don't help matters any.
I had 4 packages of Mixes to mail out yesterday so thankfully I did do that in the morning before I went to work.I parked in the municipal parking lot and one of the firefighter saw me and gave me a nice picture of me DJing.It was a nice picture.
Im hoping im able to get into my car tomarrow to get to work.
The snow is pretty to look at but it sure screws up traveling!
